Martha Lewis earned a BED in Visual Design from NCSU and has been active in both professional practice and design education for more than twenty years. As a Graphic Designer, Art Director, Project Manager, and Consultant for she has established expertise in information design, branding and advertising. Taking a different path, Martha began her teaching career in 1998. Part-time teaching at first and eventually moving to the Middle East where she was an Assistant Professor and Area Coordinator for the Communication Design Department at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. She now continues to teach at Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon. In addition to her success as a graphic designer and educator, Martha has continued her design education by attending classes in metals and sculpture. She creates primary wearable works in silver.
